Nicole Wyskoarko ’04 was recently named Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Island Def Jam Music Group. In her new role, she will oversee recording agreements, label deals, and joint ventures, working with artists like Rick Ross and Justin Bieber.
Wsykoarko has worked at Island Def Jam for 11 years, beginning as an intern while at Brooklyn Law School. After graduation she accepted an entry-level attorney position in the Business and Legal Affairs department, becoming Vice President in just six years.
Last year, Wsykoarko received the Woman Behind the Music award from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). She is also a founding member of Black Women in Entertainment Law, a non-profit advocacy group supporting women of color pursuing entertainment law.
