Job Development

Realizing Your Goals

You will spend a good deal of energy during law school preparing for life beyond graduation. Our Career Development Center team is dedicated to helping you navigate a variety of choices so that you can meet your goals. Our job development effort is led by the Career Development Center Director and spearheaded by two Employer Relations Specialists whose single focus is to develop positions within the private and government sectors.

Employer Relations Specialist
Fei Zhong, Director of Employer Relations
Ms. Zhong 06’ joined the Career Development Center in September 2014 where she has worked closely with BLS students and alumni as a career advisor. She became the Director of Employer Relations of Brooklyn Law School in 2016. Ms. Zhong received her Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. After graduating, she worked as a litigator with a real estate boutique firm before joining Skadden Arps as a staff attorney. She also worked for a number of years as a legal and compliance recruitment partner at Hire Counsel and Deutsche Bank. Ms. Zhong will manage employer relationships for BLS, including development of local and national opportunities for BLS students and alumni, and continue to serve as BLS’s diversity liaison.

D.C. Connect
We have set up a counseling-based program dedicated to helping students interested in working in Washington D.C. for the summer and/or in post-graduate positions in the government and non-profit sectors.

Students interested in working in DC meet with the DC Connect advisor in order to formulate a detailed and personalized job search strategy. The DC program is set up to ensure that students are aware of relevant deadlines, and other special requirements including background checks, possible interview questions, and necessary language for targeted resumes and cover letters for various positions.

The DC Connect advisor also serves as a liaison between the students who have secured DC internships and permanent positions.
