When Justice Fails Seminar

An in-depth examination of the legal, ethical and social issues arising out of a series of cases in which various court systems are said to have failed to achieve just results. The cases examined will include those of the so-called "Scottsboro Boys" and Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, as well as a series of proceedings in Germany, Israel and Canada regarding crimes committed during the Holocaust.

Grading and Method of Evaluation:
Letter Grade Only. A paper of approximately 25 pages in length analyzing a case other than those studied in class is required.
