Introduction to Public Interest Lawyering

This course examines the history, strategies, and ethics of public interest lawyering. Through lecture, small group discussions and skills trainings we will explore the modalities of public interest lawyering and techniques public interest lawyers use to effectively advocate for their clients. Students will be required to complete scholarly readings and contribute to small and large group discussions.

Grading and Method of Evaluation:
Letter grade with pass/fail option. Students will be required to write a number of short reflection papers and to complete a take home final paper.
