Adv Securities Regulation Sem
This seminar will involve an in-depth exploration of contemporary themes and issues facing capital markets, investors and other market participants, and securities regulators. Topics for study may include: environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability issues; trends in private and public offerings (including special purpose acquisition companies and direct listings); securities aspects of crypto assets and blockchain technology; board diversity; retail and "meme" investors; and other topics.
Grading and Method of Evaluation:
Letter grade. Each student will prepare and present a paper exploring a contemporary aspect of securities regulation. Students will be permitted to request that their papers be eligible to satisfy the Upperclass Writing Requirement. There will not be an exam option. Prerequisite/Corequisite: Students must have completed Corporations to enroll in this course. Further, students must have either completed or be concurrently enrolled in Securities Regulation to enroll in this course.
