Hon. I. Leo Glasser '48 and Hon. Arthur D. Spatt '49 were recently profiled in Newsday as two of five federal court judges in New York state who fought in World War II. As a tech corporal fighting for the U.S. Army in Europe, Glasser was awarded a Bronze Star before returning to the U.S. and attending Brooklyn Law School. Spatt served in the U.S. Navy as a navigation petty officer on the USS Sherburne and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Medal with Star and the Philippine Liberation Medal. The three other judges include Hon. Leonard D. Wexler, Hon. Thomas C. Platt, and Hon. Jack B. Weinstein, who has previously taught at Brooklyn Law School.
