Jessica Attie joined the legal writing faculty in 2010. Professor Attie was previously the Co-Director of the Foreclosure Prevention Project at South Brooklyn Legal Services, where she litigated predatory lending and fair housing cases and engaged in policy work directed at curbing abusive lending practices in the subprime mortgage industry. She has trained numerous attorneys, community advocates and policy-makers on fair lending and foreclosure issues, and is a frequent speaker at conferences and forums. Professor Attie is also an adjunct assistant professor of urban planning at NYU Wagner, where she teaches land-use law.
Professor Attie spent several years as an associate in White & Case LLP’s Washington, D.C. office. Following graduation from Georgetown University Law Center, she clerked for Judge Ricardo Urbina of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
