Legal Writing Program

Our Award Winning Legal Writing Program

Welcome to the home of Brooklyn Law School’s Legal Writing Program, recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best legal writing programs in the nation.

We are extremely proud of the Legal Writing Program, which provides students with the essential writing, research, and advocacy skills that they will need to succeed in today’s legal world. We recognize that excellent legal writing is essential for today’s lawyer, and have designed the curriculum to meet the highest standards. The first year Fundamentals of Law Practice course trains students to become clear, precise writers and effective communicators, while elective upperclass drafting and research courses refine these skills with an additional focus on being able to “hit the ground running” in any legal environment. Our top-notch legal writing faculty brings a remarkable breadth of experience to the classroom while remaining accessible to support our students and help them succeed in their writing.
