As one of the most integrated law schools, with a longtime, open-door policy to women and minorities, we are deeply committed to maximizing career opportunities for our diversity students.

We participate in various diversity recruitment programs and job fairs throughout the country, such as the Diversity Summer Fellowship Program of the New York City Bar Association, which places first-year diversity students with major law firms, as well the AFL-CIO Minority Outreach program, the Minority Judicial Internship Program sponsored by the New York County Lawyers’ Association; the Lavender Law Conference; in addition to a number of diversity programs sponsored by major law firms.

Many legal organizations and legal employers have broad diversity initiatives and sponsor diversity events for law students.  There are also several diversity scholarships, fellowships and job fairs.  The Career Center disseminates information about such opportunities to students. Additionally, the Career Center assists specialty bar associations in their outreach to diverse student groups.
