Advanced Condominium and Cooperative Clinic Students work at the Real Estate Finance Bureau of the New York State Department of Law, under Assistant Attorneys General. Professor Ira Goldenberg.

Civil Practice Externship Students select placements from an array of civil practice areas: Arts and Entertainment; Client Centered/ Individual Responsibility; Corporate Counsel; Government Litigation and Counsel; and Investors, Securities and Market Regulation. The New York Civil Court Consumer Law Externship provides students with the opportunity to give advice and counsel to clients dealing with consumer credit issues, represent clients in NYC Civil Court, negotiate with opposing counsel, and argue before a judge. Students gain invaluable, hands-on experience in lawyering while simultaneously helping some of New York’s most disadvantaged civil litigants obtain due process of law. Professor Sidney Cherubin

Criminal Practice Externship: Both prosecution and defense placements are available. Students conduct research on issues related to criminal law, procedure and evidence, assist in drafting motions and memoranda of law, participate in case investigations and witness preparation, and generally observe motions, hearings, trials and other court proceedings. Health Law Clinic Students work in various public sector placements that maintain a health law practice, including hospitals and the Legal Aid Society.  Professor Karen Porter.

Judicial Clerkship Externship Students study the judicial decision-making process through a formal class and fieldwork experience in the federal and state systems.  Professors Lisa Smith, Elizabeth Stong, Michelle Weston, Ramon Reyes.
