Visit Brooklyn Law School
We invite you to visit us and experience our campus and neighborhood first-hand. To pick up materials for admission and financial aid or to register for one of the many programs we offer prospective students, please visit the Admissions Office during office hours (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at 250 Joralemon Street in Brooklyn. If you would like to speak with a counselor, please make an appointment: firstname.lastname@example.org or call (718) 780-7906.
Our on-site programs range from casual walking tours of the campus to our half-day open house -- Experience Brooklyn Law -- designed to give prospective students an insight into our academic programs and student life. The open house also provides opportunities to meet our faculty and current students, and is especially helpful for candidates who have an application pending. We also offer class observations, as well as workshops, such as our Admission Strategies Workshop and BLS Infovisits, which address the essentials of admissions, financial aid options, and career opportunities.
Experience Brooklyn Law Open House
Our Experience Brooklyn Law program is held on campus in the fall, and as an online webinar in the fall and spring. This program is open to all prospective Brooklyn Law students and is especially appropriate for candidates who have an application pending for admission in our next entering class. The program includes:
- An overview of the admissions process for Brooklyn Law School
- An opportunity to observe an actual law school class in session
- Lunch with faculty and administrators
- A panel discussion with current students
- A brief guided tour of the Law School's main campus.
Our Experience Brooklyn Law Open House will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, 9 am - 3 pm. Register here.
Each week (except holidays), the Admissions Office hosts a 90-minute tour and information session for prospective students. The Infovisit offers a walking tour of the Law School's main academic building, including several classrooms, the Moot Court Room, library, cafeteria, and student lounge. Infovisits are typically led by an admissions officer along with a current Brooklyn Law student who can answer questions during the tour and information session.
Observe a Class
To experience the look and feel of an actual law school class in progress, you are welcome to observe up to three first-year classes at Brooklyn Law School. All classes are held in the main building at 250 Joralemon Street. View our Class Observation Schedule for courses that are open to visitors. The semester begins on Monday, January 13th and continues through Friday, April 24th.
Please reach out in advance to the Admissions Office at email@example.com to arrange your class visitation. This will ensure we have a visitor's pass available for you when you arrive, and also that the class will be meeting that day. Include in your email the date, time, and class you would like to observe.
On the day of your visit, arrive at the classroom a few minutes prior to the scheduled start time to introduce yourself to the professor. We kindly ask that you do not enter a classroom after class has begun or exit a classroom while the class is still in session out of respect for the students and professor.
If you are unable to participate in our scheduled programs, we encourage you to pay a casual, "walk-in" visit to Brooklyn Law School at a time that is convenient for you. When you arrive on campus, you will first need to go to the Admissions Office to pick up a visitor's pass, materials for a self-guided tour of our facilities, and a schedule of classes that can be visited. If you would like to schedule a "walk-in" visit, please call the Admissions Office at (718) 780-7906 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
In planning your visit, keep in mind that the last day of fall semester classes is December 5, 2018, and that the reading and examination period extends through December 21, 2018, during which time no tours or self-guided tours are permitted out of respect for students preparing for and taking examinations. Please note that, while you are welcome to sit in on a class, it is generally not advisable to do so during the final week of the semester. Brooklyn Law School is closed for Winter Recess from December 22 - January 1, 2019.
