Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Seminar
This seminar will focus on the practical aspects of the fields of personal injury and medical malpractice. The course is designed to provide the student with knowledge of the real world practice in these areas. Topics will include client relationships, case selection, investigative procedures, commencing and processing a case, as well as settlement negotiations and trial preparation. Topics such as complaints, Bills of Particulars, expert selection and depositions will be covered in detail. Additionally, we will cover a wide variety of the common types of cases including auto, elevator and construction accidents as well as a wide variety of medical malpractice cases including failure to diagnosis cancer, surgical errors and emergency room malpractice.
Grading and Method of Evaluation:
Letter grade with pass/fail option. Students are evaluated by an oral interview with the instructor during the final exam period.
