Litigating Executive Power
Since 2017, there have been over 1,000 lawsuits filed against executive actions by the President. This seminar will explore them. Taught by a practitioner with nearly a decade of experience litigating executive power cases for the ACLU, the seminar will cover the nuts and bolts of challenging presidential decisions in court and evaluate how decisions arising from those cases have reshaped American law and institutions. Topics will include: immigration, deployment of federal law enforcement in American cities, and authority to engage in military action abroad.
