Brooklyn Law School was named No. 34 on the National Law Journal list of “Go-To Law Schools,” which ranks law schools with the largest percentage of 2022 J.D. graduates hired as first-year associates at the largest U.S. law firms.

Brooklyn Law School, which stands out as the only independent law school on the list, sent 63 graduates or 18.42 percent of its class to the 100 largest law firms, moving up in the rankings from No. 37 last year.

“I am pleased, but not surprised, to see that the largest firms continue to recognize the value of the preparation for sophisticated legal practice that a Brooklyn Law School education affords,” Dean Michael T. Cahill said.

“It’s a great development,” said Steven Gordon, Interim Assistant Dean of Career & Professional Development. “I think it really represents our efforts to enhance and reach out to as many big firms as we possibly can and increase the number of large law firms that we place with. It’s also representative of our enhanced and enlarged employer engagement team.”

Students typically get positions with large firms through the Law School’s On-Campus Recruiting program, Gordon said.
