Service Day

Every year, the Public Service Law Center invites students to Brooklyn Law’s Annual Service Day where students can sign up for a day of volunteer work and give back to the Brooklyn community. Get to know your classmates, faculty, and administrators while working for a great cause.

Look out for an email from the Public Service Law Center to sign up to volunteer at an organization!

Below are this year’s volunteer sites:

Prospect Park Alliance: Help keep Prospect Park’s 500+ acres of gardens and natural areas beautiful! Volunteers will assist with trail maintenance, mulching, path edging, raking, sweeping, painting benches and fences, and/or litter removal.

Sean Casey Animal Rescue: Take a few lonely yet lovable dogs for a walk around this leafy, friendly neighborhood! You can also say hello to cats, birds, guinea pigs, and other critters who are seeking caring owners—and maybe take one home yourself!

CAMBA Flagstone Family Center: Come and support the 158-bed homeless shelter in Brownsville, Brooklyn. You’ll be able to assist the Center with one of their ongoing projects, making it a more comfortable and well-organized space for families in need.

Bed-Stuy Campaign Against Hunger: Work at the largest food pantry in Brooklyn, which provides the basic staples of a well-balanced diet to more than 30,000 low-income individuals each month. Volunteers will either work in the garden and harvest produce or be assigned a pantry role, which would involve helping visitors shop for a well-rounded meal, assisting with intake or working in the storage area bringing food items to the front and cleaning up.
