Dear Brooklyn Law School Community:

While it seems the impact of Tropical Storm Henri on our immediate campus area has been manageable, we are concerned about possible weather-related delays and issues that will confront those traveling to school from a distance. Accordingly, out of an abundance of caution and to avoid unnecessary complications for faculty and students on the first day, we have decided that the law school will be CLOSED and all in-person classes are suspended Monday, August 23. We anticipate most classes will be conducted on Zoom instead, but individual professors may choose to cancel class and have a make-up session later in the semester.

I apologize for the delayed timing of this announcement, but we have been monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis and believe this is the best decision for our community as classes begin and based on the uncertain progress of the storm as it continues its slow movement across our general area.

We expect a return to normal operations on Tuesday, August 24. All the best, and stay safe and dry.

Sincerely yours,

Michael T. Cahill (he/him)
