The Women’s Leadership Circle at Brooklyn Law School is hosting a Women’s Leadership Network event, "Women’s Health: Law & Well-Being" on Thursday, April 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Subotnick Center

This panel brings together three accomplished alumni to explore the complexity of women’s health today, bringing a legal perspective to topics such as healthcare technology, wellness, and the consequences when the medical system fails women.

Panelists will share perspectives on the evolving landscape of women’s health and wellness, including practical strategies for self-advocacy and ways women can protect their rights as patients. Attendees can expect an evening of mentorship and meaningful discussion that supports both personal and professional growth.

Panelists include:

  • Eleni Coffinas ’85, partner, Sullivan Papain Block McManus Coffinas & Cannavo, a New York trial attorney specializing in medical malpractice and personal injury who is recognized for securing multiple seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements, and for her work as a mentor and leader in the legal community.

  • Nicole Foley ’08, founder of Shore Wellbeing and senior coach at Maven Clinic, who specializes in evidence-based health and wellness coaching, helping individuals manage stress, anxiety, fertility and autoimmune conditions through a holistic approach.

  • Shilpa Patel ’06, an attorney and healthcare executive, and a founding member of Kindbody, offering expertise at the intersection of healthcare law, health technology, and patient advocacy. As chief business and legal officer of Shields Health Solutions, Shilpa helped launch various product lines, oversee the legal & compliance department, and serves as a strategic executive leader.

The discussion will be moderated by Karen Porter, Associate Dean for Academic and Student Success and Associate Professor of Clinical Law at Brooklyn Law School, who brings expertise in public health law and student mentorship.
