Three Brooklyn Law School Alumni Named to Forbes’ List of America’s Top Lawyers

Brooklyn Law School is proud to celebrate three distinguished alumni who have been named to Forbes’ 2025 list of America’s Top 250 Lawyers: Frank Aquila ’83, Marc Agnifilo ’90, and Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme ’96. The annual list recognizes attorneys who exemplify excellence, innovation, and leadership across the profession.
Frank Aquila ’83
Frank Aquila, Chairman of Brooklyn Law School’s Board of Trustees, is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance lawyers. A partner at Sullivan & Cromwell, Aquila has advised on many of the most complex and high-profile corporate transactions in recent decades.
In December 2018, the Financial Times described him as “one of the most influential and high-profile M&A and corporate lawyers in the U.S.,” and The Wall Street Journal named him among the top dealmakers of the year. Aquila was elected chairman of the Law School’s Board in 2019, after serving as a trustee since 2008 and vice chair since 2014. He continues to provide visionary leadership, building on the legacy of Stuart Subotnick ’68, who served as board chair for 16 years.
Marc Agnifilo ’90
Marc Agnifilo, a highly respected criminal defense attorney, is a founding partner of Agnifilo Intrater, the firm he co-founded in 2024 with Zach Intrater and Teny Geragos. Known for taking on some of the most challenging and high-profile cases in the country, he has represented clients ranging from corporate executives to entertainers and public figures.
In its profile, Forbes highlighted Agnifilo’s recent work in the federal trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, where he secured a split verdict that averted a potential life sentence. “This is hard, important work,” Agnifilo told Forbes. “You want someone who’s really going to fret over your case.” His career reflects deep dedication to both his clients and the principles of justice.
Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme ’96
Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme is a partner at Pryor Cashman, where she co-chairs the firm’s Intellectual Property and Fashion Groups. With more than 25 years of experience, she is recognized as a leading trademark and copyright litigator, representing clients across industries from fashion and luxury goods to technology and entertainment.
She has defended music icons such as Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, and Lady Gaga in publicity and trademark disputes, and protected global brands including Richemont and L’Oréal in litigation and portfolio management. Finguerra-DuCharme has been ranked by Chambers USA, The Legal 500, and World Trademark Review’s WTR 1000, and was recently named one of Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Global IP Lawyers. In 2024, she was honored as Brooklyn Law School’s Fashion Law Society Alumni of the Year.
Celebrating Brooklyn Law Leadership
The inclusion of Aquila, Agnifilo, and Finguerra-DuCharme in Forbes’ Top 250 underscores Brooklyn Law School’s legacy of producing leaders who shape the law at the highest levels of practice.
