IBL CLE Symposium - The New International Economic (Dis)Order

About the Symposium
The rules and institutions that have governed international economic relations since the end of World War II are collapsing. This Symposium will bring together scholars, practitioners, and policy experts to discuss the causes and consequences of this collapse, and what may follow in its wake.
Convened by Brooklyn Law School’s Dennis J. Block Center for the Study of International Business Law, the full-day Symposium will be organized according to four ongoing transformations occurring in the international economic order: (1) from international economic cooperation to economic coercion; (2) from open borders to closed borders; (3) from national security to economic security; and (4) from a policy of free markets to one of state intervention and industrial policy. The Symposium will end with a plenary roundtable discussion on the role for the rule of law in the international economic order of the future.
