Justice in Action: Exploring Careers in Public Defense Across New York

What does a career in public defense look like across New York State? On Tuesday, Oct. 7, law students and alumni of ABA-accredited law schools will have the chance to hear directly from attorneys who have dedicated their careers to serving communities and advancing justice.

Hosted by the Public Service Law Center in partnership with the New York State Defenders Association, Justice in Action: Exploring Careers in Public Defense Across New York brings together defenders from counties across the state for an evening of conversation and connection. David Dinkins '56 Professor of Law Alexis Hoag-Fordjour who is also co-director of the Center for Criminal Justice, will moderate the discussion, guiding panelists as they share their professional journeys, the challenges they face, and the impact of their work.

Following the panel, guests are invited to a networking reception at the Subotnick Center, 10th floor, where students and alumni can connect with practitioners and explore what a path in public defense might mean for them.
