Annual Constitution Day Program: A Republic (or Democracy?) If You Can Keep It
Does the Constitution establish a republic rather than a democracy? Constitutional law faculty William Araiza, Wilfred U. Codrington III, Joel Gora, Susan Herman and Alice Ristroph will lead a discussion about the consequences of constitutional design, including Supreme Court decisions entrenching counter majoritarian positions on issues like abortion and gun control, and partisan control of elections.
Refreshments will be served!
