Moot Court Competitions
Competing in moot court competitions provides law students with an excellent opportunity to strengthen their oral advocacy and written skills. Each team of law students participating in the competitions produces extensive written briefs and spends weeks practicing simulated oral arguments in preparation for the actual competition. Brooklyn Law School's moot court teams are among the nation's best. Each year the Law School enters approximately 17 teams in national competitions spanning all areas of law. Our teams consistently take top honors in both the trial and appellate advocacy competitions. Among some of the competitions the law school has regularly entered are: the Robert F. Wagner National Labor Law Competition; National Family Law Competition; Pace University National Environmental Law Competition; National Criminal Procedure Law Competition; Texas Young Lawyers Association's National Trial Advocacy Competition; and the John Marshall National Privacy Law Competition. Grading: Pass/fail only.
