Information Privacy Seminar
This course will provide the necessary toolkit for counseling on privacy issues. We will build a substantive foundation by studying the FTC's role as the predominant U.S. privacy regulator, domestic privacy laws, emerging state statutes, international privacy regulation, and transnational data flows. We will then apply that foundation by learning how to build "Privacy by Design" into products and services, building practical counseling skills though work such as building privacy statements, advising a non-legal audience on privacy matters, designing in-product privacy notices, and analyzing emerging technologies.
