Independent Research

Under the supervision of a faculty member, this course provides the student with a significant research experience and an opportunity for in-depth study and analysis of a particular area of the law. The student will have an opportunity to articulate his or her own ideas and evaluation of the law. The student will be required to submit drafts during the semester and will be expected to rewrite portions of the paper based on feedback from the faculty supervisor. The resulting research paper should be of a quality that satisfies the upper class writing requirement. The student is responsible for securing the consent of a faculty member to supervise the paper who will establish a schedule of meetings and deadlines throughout the semester. Grading and Method of Evaluation: Letter grade.
