Gateway: Law & Individual Life

This course introduces students to statutory reading and interpretation, using a complex statutory framework as the basis for three graded research and writing assignments: an electronic client alert, a transactional document, and a persuasive written analysis (such as a trial-level or appellate brief). Students also learn oral communications skills, and build on grammar, citation, research, writing, and editing skills learned in the fall semester.
