Biography

Professor Ryan Gerber joined Brooklyn Law School as a Visiting Professor of Legal Writing in 2025. Professor Gerber’s research focuses on firearms law, with a specific emphasis on gun industry immunity laws and the role that guns play in American society.

Prior to joining the law school, Professor Gerber practiced as an impact litigator at both
Everytown Law and the Policing Project at NYU School of Law, where he brought and defended cases in federal and state courts throughout the country. He also taught legal writing as an adjunct at Fordham Law School. He began his career by working at Jenner & Block’s New York Office.

Professor Gerber clerked for the Hon. Jack B. Weinstein, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of New York and received his law degree from NYU School of Law.
