Lawyers Leading Change Seminar

Lawyers have traditionally played key leadership roles in society and have been at the forefront of social and organizational change. This course asks students to embrace the notion of lawyer as leader and to recognize that all leadership is change leadership, and that everyone can be a leader. With a focus on diversity and inclusion as a particularly salient area of needed change within the legal profession, students will be introduced to insights from a variety of disciplines which have altered current thinking about how individuals frame change, why individuals and organizations hold onto the past, and the challenge of developing new approaches. Students will examine their individual leadership styles and develop the competencies necessary to lead change and become high impact leaders in the profession and in society.

Grading and Method of Evaluation:
Letter Grade. Written work can satisfy Substantial Upper Level Writing Requriment or Additional Upper Level Writing Requirement.
