The Northeast has joined strongholds like Texas in the demand for energy lawyers, wrote Dean Nick Allard in a new Breaking Energy op-ed – a need that will only surge in light of an "insatiable demand for energy and the lack of a coherent energy policy." In New York, for example, lawmakers have introduced 10 new bills related to hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking – the most of any state. Both sides of the issue will require legal expertise to help define regulations and parameters, Dean Nick Allard wrote. "What all of this adds up to is high stakes for energy producers and consumers – and rising demand for more professionals with legal degrees to hammer out the details," he explained.
