On November 29, the Fund for the Modern Courts honored Adjunct Professor Barry Kamins with the 10th annual Cyrus R. Vance Tribute. The Fund is dedicated to improving New York State courts through advocacy and public education, and presents the Vance Tribute each year to attorneys and judges who strives for a fairer and more accessible court system.
Professor Kamins is the Administrative Judge of the Criminal Court of the City of New York and teaches New York Criminal Procedure Workshop at Brooklyn Law School. He is an active member of the New York law community, co-chairing the Advisory Committee on Criminal Law and Procedure and the New York State Permanent Sentencing Committee. He is also a member of the New York Law Journal board of editors and writes the column, “Criminal Law and Practice.” He is the author of New York Search and Seizure (LexisNexis, 2012).
