06.07.12 Class Reunions Celebration Boast Record Attendance
    Reunions 2012

On May 17, 2012, more than five hundred Brooklyn Law School graduates, faculty, and friends celebrated Class Reunions, breaking all previous Reunion attendance records. Graduates of the Classes of 1952, 1957, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, and 2007 gathered in The New York Public Library’s majestic Astor Hall. The beautiful location provided a festive setting where guests enjoyed cocktails and a buffet dinner while reconnecting with former classmates. Graduates traveled from locations throughout the United States, including California, Florida, Texas, Washington State, and South Dakota. Many faculty members were also in attendance, including Brooklyn’s legendary Professor Joseph Crea ’47, who was celebrating his 65th reunion year.

President Joan Wexler and Interim Dean Michael Gerber warmly welcomed the graduates in attendance and recognized all of the reunion classes. Special recognition was given to eleven members of the Class of 1952, three members of the Class of 1957, and eight members of the Class of 1962 who were in attendance. As “Golden Circle” alumni, they received commemorative medals in recognition of their fiftieth or greater reunion years.

In the months leading up to the Class Reunions, 45% of graduates in attendance offered to serve as Class Champions by helping to locate fellow classmates and encouraging them to also attend the event. In recognition of their reunion year, Class Champions also made contributions to their respective Class Gifts, which support the Law School’s Annual Fund.
