    Professor Derek Bambauer criticized a controversial bill in Arizona that seeks to criminalize offensive material on the Internet. If passed, violators of the law could be charged up to $250,000 and receive a six-month jail sentence, for actions that include sending an angry email to a friend and posting rude comments on a blog. “The Internet would shut down if this bill were judged to be constitutionally sound -- everything annoying or offensive said online would be caught up in it,” said Professor Bambauer. “This is plainly unconstitutional.”
