The U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission are beginning to look into the details surrounding Apple’s new app subscription plan, which may violate antitrust laws. Professor Jonathan Askin spoke to The Huffington Post on the examination, which has not yet become a formal investigation. “Apple is still wrapped in Teflon when it comes to antitrust investigations,” he said. “I’m convinced, at some point, a court will recognize the inordinate power that Apple wields over the Apple use community and define a market subject to antitrust scrutiny, but, for now, Apple seems immune from such charges."
