Kristen N. Gizzi, general counsel for New York-based construction company ECCO III Enterprises, was inducted by the National Association of Professional Women into its 2017-2018 Woman of the Year Circle. Gizzi also serves as director of real estate for ECCO Development, and executive director of Litchfield Crossing, the largest retail shopping center in New Milford, CT. (8/18/2017)

Scot Phelps was named Director of the Office of Emergency Medical Services for the State of New Jersey. He is a full-time professor of ambulance and disaster science at the Emergency Management Academy of New York City and has served as a paramedic for 30 years. (6/1/2017)

Richard J. Sobelsohn joined Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation as Vice President, Legal. He continues to teach Sustainable Building Law, Real Estate Practice, and Commercial Leasing at Brooklyn Law School. In February 2017, he was a speaker in “Revolutionizing Transactional Practice Methods: How to Overcome Transactional Attorney Pain Points with Evolving Practice Tools” for an American Bar Association webinar, Real Property Trust & Estates section. In October he presented one of the first NYS mandated “Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias” CLE programs for Judicial Title Agency. He was recently re-appointed chair of the Economics, Technology & Practice Methods Committee of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law section. He was recently quoted in the following articles: “2017 Cities with the Most Overleveraged Mortgage Debtors,” WalletHub, April 2017 and “Tenants’ Rights in NYC: When You’re Asked to Move,” ForRent.com, August 1, 2017. Andrew L. Weitz, partner at WeitzPascale, P.C., had two settlements and one verdict featured in the New York Law Journal’s annual review of top verdicts and settlements of 2016. He also delivered lectures in New York City and on Long Island to the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers on the subject of punitive damages awards in automobile accident cases. (8/4/2017)
