Charles N. Curlett Jr., founding member and managing partner of the firm Levin & Curlett LLC, was elected Chair of the Criminal Law Section of the Federal Bar Association. Judith K. Gargiulo joined the Phoenix office of Ryley Carlock & Applewhite as a shareholder in the corporate practice. She serves as outside general counsel assisting with structuring and negotiating deals. She was previously a shareholder at Zwillinger Greek & Knecht PC in Phoenix. (4/11/2015)

Jeffrey S. MacDonald was appointed managing partner of the Hartford, CT, office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. A corporate transactions partner, MacDonald represents securities issuers, investment funds, operating companies and transaction counterparties across industries in connection with mergers and acquisitions, private equity and debt financings, and general corporate and governance matters. Peter R. Piazza, previously Deputy Chief Legal Officer, Senior Vice President, and General Counsel at The Nielson Company, joined MediaMath as its General Counsel. The company is the creator of the TerminalOne market operating system for digital marketers. Piazza oversees all legal matters and supports the company’s commercial operations. (7/15/2015)

Jennifer S. Rosenkrantz, a partner of the Garden City, New York matrimonial boutique law firm, Schlissel Ostrow Karabatos, PLLC, was elected as a Director of the Nassau County Bar Association. Rosenkrantz is also the Second Vice-Chair of the Matrimonial Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association and the Co-Editor of “Recent Decisions in Matrimonial Law,” the monthly publication of that committee. Rosenthal focuses on the company's National Partner Practice, and he also represents senior attorneys in the federal government seeking to enter private practice with a focus on the energy sector. Richard J. Sobelsohn, Group Director of Financial Practice Area Modules at Lexis Nexis, presented a CLE program, “The Evolving Transaction Attorney Practice Tools,” at the New York State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting in January 2016. He also published an article in the NYLJ, “Law Firms Adopt Sustainability to Stay Sustainable” (Dec. 28, 2015). Sobelsohn serves as chair of the Economics, Technology & Practice Methods Committee of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Real Estate Law Section and is also a member of the adjunct faculty at Brooklyn Law School.
