Justine J. Block has joined Hahn & Hessen LLP as special counsel in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group. Block focuses her practice on the representation of commercial banks, investment banks, and hedge funds in connection with the purchase and sale of domestic and international bank loans, securities and claims against companies in bankruptcy or undergoing financial restructuring. Matt Funk, partner at Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano, LLP, was elected president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association for the term beginning July 1, 2017. He will be the first attorney who practices in workers’ compensation to hold the position. (9/9/2016)
Avi Kestenbaum and Amy Altman '07 co-authored an article, “Have We Got it All Wrong? Rethinking the Fabric of Estate Planning,” featured in Trusts & Estates magazine (Feb. 2016). Kestenbaum is a partner and Altman is an associate at Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein and Breitstone, with offices on Long Island and in New York City. Brett Lewis, owner of Brooklyn-based law firm Lewis & Lin, LLC , is also a film writer and producer. His latest film, C STREET, a comedy about a Washington, DC sex scandal, was recently released on iTunes. He is currently working on a television series. Jenifer Minsky was promoted to senior counsel in the New Jersey office of Peckar & Abramson, P.C. She also serves as the firm’s ProjectNotice program manager. She assists contractors in managing risk associated with constructions contracts valued from millions to hundreds of millions of dollars.
