Juliet “JP” Howard received the 2016 Judith A. Markowitz Emerging Writer Award from Lambda Literary, the nation’s leading national nonprofit organization promoting LGBTQ literature. Howard is a Cave Canem graduate fellow and the author of SAY/MIRROR, a debut poetry collection published by The Operating System (2015). (5/18/2016)

Jeffrey M. Kimmel, a partner at the Woodbury, LI firm of Salenger, Sack, Kimmel & Bavaro, LLP and head of its medical malpractice group, was sworn in to serve on the Advisory Council of the Nassau Suffolk Law Services Committee (NSLS) in June 2015. Michael B. Mirotznik, managing attorney of the Long Island, NY firm Mirotznik & Associates LLC, was presented with a United Hospital Fund Distinguished Trustee Award by the Nassau University Medical Center in May 2015 in recognition of his “leadership and extraordinary service to hospitals in New York City’s five boroughs, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and close-by New Jersey.” He focuses his practice on civil, criminal and medical malpractice litigation. David Pratt, a partner at Proskauer Rose LLP, Chair of its Personal Planning Department and head of its Boca Raton office, was elected Vice Chair of Financial Resource Development of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. He previously served as Vice Chair of the Federation’s Annual Campaign and is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Federation’s Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation. Pratt’s practice is dedicated exclusively to the areas of trusts and estates, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer, fiduciary and individual income taxation and fiduciary litigation.
