On April 7, Brooklyn Law Student for the Public Interest (BLSPI) will be holding the 25th Annual BLSPI Auction. For the last 25 years, the annual BLSPI Auction has supported numerous public interest initiatives. Because this is the 25th anniversary of the Auction, this year's event will also serve as a very special celebration of the achievements of BLS graduates.
The evening includes both a live and silent auction. Items up for bid have included everything from sports tickets and memorabilia to gift certificates for great area restaurants, networking and social opportunities with our law school faculty, artwork and jewelry donated by local businesses, and even the chance to share a meal with some of Brooklyn Law School’s most famous alumni, including Geraldo Rivera. And, of course, all attendees will be able to partake in complimentary appetizers and hors d’oeuvres and enjoy an open beer and wine bar.
The money we raise will fund BLSPI’s numerous public interest initiatives, all of which are designed to improve the lives of people in need. One of the principal initiatives made possible by the auction is the BLSPI Fellowship Program. Each year, we give out summer fellowships to 20 deserving and dedicated students, allowing them to take on public interest legal positions that would otherwise be unpaid.
If you are interested in helping to support this year’s auction, you can make a donation online. If you would like to donate an item or experience, get involved in another way, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Auction Co-Chairs at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope to see you in April!
