BLS Sponsored CLE Program

Brooklyn Law School will be presenting PLI’s Bridge-the-Gap I program on January 8-10, 2016 in the Jerome Prince Moot Court Room at the Law School. This program will enable you to satisfy all 16 hours of your annual requirement for Mandatory Continuing Legal Education for Newly Admitted Attorneys in the State of New York. Please note, we have arranged with PLI to also offer credit for New Jersey. You may request a certificate for New Jersey when signing in upon arrival.

The fee to attend would normally be upwards of $500, but the Law School will be offering it for $65. That is less than $5 per credit.

Sabbath Observers
To meet the needs of Sabbath observers, PLI has agreed to reserve up to 20 seats in another PLI “Bridge the Gap I” program at the organization’s Manhattan office. To register for this program, please check the appropriate box on the online form. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. PLI will contact you directly to schedule your attendance. You may also elect to attend the Sunday section on January 10 at Brooklyn Law School so that you only have to make up 10 hours at a later date. Please contact Andrea Polci if you would like to attend on Sunday.

Please note: Even if you DID NOT pass the 2015 New York State or New Jersey Bar Examination, you may still take this program and carry your credits over until the date of your admission.

-I completed the Bridge the Gap I program last winter. Am I eligible to participate in this program and receive the 16 transitional credits again?
No, the NYSBA prohibits attorneys from repeating the same CLE programs, even if the topics are different.

-Is this program only for Brooklyn Law School graduates? Can I bring a co-worker or a friend that graduated from another law school?
Because the Law School subsidizes the program, Bridge the Gap is available for Brooklyn Law School graduates only. PLI offers similar programs for the general public. Please visit the PLI website for more information on programs for the public.

-Can I receive credit for New Jersey?
Yes, certificates will be issued for New Jersey, upon request. You may request a certificate for New Jersey when signing in with PLI upon arrival. Please note, this program will not fulfill ALL CLE requirements for New Jersey. Please verify specific requirements with the New Jersey Board on Continuing Legal Education.

-I graduated prior to 2014. Can I attend Bridge the Gap I?
If you haven't already attended a Bridge the Gap I program you may be put on the wait list. Please contact Andrea Polci to be added to the wait list. DO NOT RSVP online until you have been contacted by BLS.
