2017 Bologna, Italy Summer Law Program

The Summer Program at the University of Bologna is jointly sponsored by Brooklyn Law School and Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. The Program offers students an opportunity to study a variety of international and comparative topics with distinguished faculty from both American and European law schools. A special attraction of the program is its affiliation with the University of Bologna's Faculty of Law.

The program is scheduled when the University is in session and as a result American students who participate in the program will have an opportunity to interact with Italian students.

  • Arthur Pinto is Co-Director of the Brooklyn Law School – Loyola Law School of Los Angeles foreign summer program in Bologna, Italy. He is a member of the Brooklyn Law School faculty.
  • William Araiza is Vice Dean and Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School. Professor Araiza will teach Comparative Constitutional Law.
  • Professor Karl Manheim is a member of the faculty at Loyola Law School, LA. He will teach US and European Privacy Law.

  • Chiara Giovannucci Orlandi is the Italian Co-Director of the Bologna summer program. She is adjunct professor of Alternative Dispute Resolution on the Faculty of Economics at the University of Bologna. She previously was a Professor of Civil Procedure and of International Alternative Dispute Resolution on the Faculty of Economics at the University of Bologna; Visiting Professor at Paris Ouest la Defense, Nanterre; and Visiting Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She is an honors graduate of the University of Bologna Faculty of Law and she is admitted to the Bologna Bar. Professor Giovannucci Orlandi is a member of the Italian Chamber of Commerce Conciliation and Arbitration Committee. She has authored many articles in the field of arbitration in Italian and foreign law reviews. Professor Orlandi will teach International Commercial Arbitration.
