Admissions / FAQs print FAQs General Information Applying Admissions Process Financial Aid Student Life Do I need to provide my parents’ information to be considered for a Need-Based Grant? Yes. In order to be considered for a Brooklyn Law School Need Grant, applicants must submit parents’ information. Please see Applying for Financial Aid. Do I need to provide my parents’ information on the FAFSA? No. Applicants to law school should not provide parents’ information on the FAFSA. All law students are considered independent for Federal Financial Aid. Do I need to complete a new Application for Financial Aid each year? Yes. Every spring, prior to the academic year, you must complete and submit your FAFSA and Brooklyn Law School Application for Financial Aid. What are the hours of operation for the Office of Financial Aid? We are open Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. If you wish to meet with someone after these hours you should request an appointment via email. What Financial Aid application materials are required? All applicants must complete and submit the Brooklyn Law School Application for Financial Aid. Applicants interested in Federal Financial Aid must complete their FAFSA after January 1. Need Grant applicants must also submit a Need-Based Request and copies of their parents’ federal taxes. See Applying for Financial Aid. What is Brooklyn Law School’s FAFSA code? The FAFSA code for Brooklyn Law School is G02677. What types of Financial Aid are available? Brooklyn Law School offers merit scholarships and need grants. Eligible applicants may apply for Federal Financial Aid, which includes Direct Unsubsidized Loans, Graduate Plus Loans, and Public Service Grant programs. When is the Financial Aid deadline? Admitted Applicants should complete and submit their Brooklyn Law School Application for Financial Aid by April 15. Applicants who are admitted to the Law School after April 15 should complete and submit their application within thirty days of their admittance. Where do I complete and submit my FAFSA? The Office of Financial Aid is located at 1 Boerum Place, on the second floor. We are conveniently located near the Registrar’s office and Student Accounts. You do not need an appointment to meet with a financial aid counselor. Does BLS sponsor a loan forgiveness program?
