He represents a variety of stakeholders in chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, corporate restructurings and liquidations, including indenture trustees, lenders, administrative and collateral agents, trade creditors, lessors, committees, investors and chapter 7 and liquidating trustees. Daniel P. Blouin, previously with Weitz & Luxenberg P.C., joined the New York office of Simmons Hanly Conroy as a partner in its asbestos litigation department. Blouin was named a National Trial Lawyer “Top 40 under 40″ in 2014 and 2015. The National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys also named him a “Top Ten Under 40″ in 2014 and 2015. Prior to entering private practice, Blouin served as an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County as a felony trial-attorney and a criminal-court supervisor. (4/10/2015)

Christopher A. Gorman became a partner of the Uniondale, NY firm Westerman Ball Ederer Miller & Sharfstein LLP in its Litigation Department. He concentrates his practice on commercial litigation and business disputes. (8/26/2015)

Erin Hargis was promoted to partner at Rosenberg & Gluck, LLP, a Long Island based firm handling all aspects of personal injury on Long Island and the five boroughs. (3/8/2016)

Richard A. Loconte was appointed by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to serve as executive deputy superintendent for communications and strategy at the New York State Department of Financial Services. He was previously the deputy head of government affairs and associate general counsel at AIG, Inc. (3/8/2016)

Nicholas Melissinos ’04 was appointed by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo as Special Counsel to the Commissioner for Ethics, Risk and Compliance at the Division of Human Rights. Melissinos was also recognized as a 2015 “Best LGBT Lawyer Under 40” by the LGBT Bar. He previously served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel at the New York City Law Department’s Special Federal Litigation Division and also held roles at private law firms. (7/15/2015)

Cassandra M. Porter, counsel at Lowenstein Sandler LLP, was selected as co-chair of the New Jersey KnowledgeNet Chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). The IAPP is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community. (3/8/2016)
