Daniel W. Dienst was appointed to the board of directors of Knoll, Inc., a design firm and manufacturer of office systems, furniture, textiles, and accessories. Most recently, Dienst served as a director and chief executive officer of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc., until its sale to Sequential Brands, Inc. in 2015. He previously served as group chief executive of Sims Metal Management, Ltd. (8/18/2017)

Karen Doyle joined the Hudson Highlands Land Trust as manager of public policy and planning, responsible for engaging village, town, city, and county representatives in sound land-use planning and natural resource protection strategies. She previously served in non-profit and governmental law offices, and represented various municipalities in land-use, zoning, public health, and environmental matters. During her career in the NYC Law Department, Doyle spent many years working with the Department of Environmental Protection on watershed protection issues. (1/22/2018)

Matthew S. Dunn, partner at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, was named co-chair of the firm’s immigration department. His clients include banks, global financial services companies, technology and business consultancies, advertising agencies, health care institutions, and sports and entertainment organizations. David Frey was appointed New York City Civil Court Judge by Mayor Bill de Blasio. He was first appointed as Interim Civil Court Judge in January 2017 and has been assigned to Criminal Court. Frey served for 19 years with the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office, where he last served as Bureau Chief of Investigations.

Robert Laplaca, partner at Verrill Dana, LLP, was the recipient of the firm’s 2017 Roger A. Putnam Community Service Award in recognition of his charitable work, particularly his fifteen years as a firefighter for the Weston (CT) Volunteer Fire Department. Laplaca practices commercial litigation and promotion law. (10/27/2017)

Ellen A. Marcus joined Statewide Abstract, a title insurance agency with offices in White Plains and Manhattan. She handles various aspects of title processing for commercial and residential real estate industries. (8/4/2017)

Deborah E. Riegel was named an equity member of Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. She joined the firm in 1994 and became a member in the firm’s litigation department in 2000. (8/4/2017)
