Naftali Dembitzer was promoted to of counsel in the New York office of DLA Piper LLP (US). He concentrates on federal and state tax matters with an emphasis on state and local income, sales/use and real estate transfer taxes; employment taxes; and tax controversy matters. (3/1/2017)

Ralph De Palma III joined Pryor Cashman LLP as of counsel in the firm’s media and entertainment group. He previously served as of counsel at Rayner Rowe, LLP and began his legal career in the business affairs department of Sony Music. He is an adjunct professor of entertainment law at Brooklyn Law School. (3/1/2017)

Lisa Koenig, partner in Fragomen’s New York office, recently traveled to Dilley, Texas with 16 colleagues to volunteer their legal services to the CARA Detention Project, which counsels women who fled the violence in the Northern Triangle Area (El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras) and were detained at the South Texas Family Detention Center. Jillian Rosen was named partner at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP. Based in the firm’s Manhattan office, she focuses her practice on writing appeals and substantive motions for plaintiff’s attorneys and appearing for oral argument before the New York State Appellate Division and Supreme Court. She joined the firm as a senior attorney in the appellate department in 2007. (9/5/2017)

Marci Waterman was named Chief Operating Officer of SterlingRisk Insurance. She joined Sterling Risk in 2013 and most recently served as Chief Administrative Officer. She is also the managing director of Sterling Analytics, a legal auditing company owned by SterlingRisk. Prior to joining SterlingRisk, Waterman was a New York City prosecutor and served as a senior assistant district attorney in Brooklyn with the major narcotics division. (8/18/2017)

Mark Weprin joined Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder in the firm’s Manhattan and Albany offices. He will lobby elected officials and advise clients on regulatory and legislative issues. Weprin previously served as Governor Andrew Cuomo’s deputy secretary of legislative affairs after serving for five years on the New York City Council. (3/1/2017)
