Brian L. Bromberg, founder of the consumer-protection law firm, Bromberg Law Office, P.C., was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Consumer Advocates. The organization is comprised of over 1,500 attorneys whose mission is to promote a fair and open marketplace that forcefully protects the rights of consumers, particularly those of modest means. Thomas (Tad) A. DiBiase, Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Capitol Police, will publish a new book, No-Body Homicide Cases: A Practical Guide to Investigating, Prosecuting, and Winning Cases When the Victim is Missing (CRC Press Nov. 2014). DiBiase previously served for 12 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, where he prosecuted homicides. He is considered one of the world's leading experts on no-body murder cases. (9/9/2014)

Mitchell A. Drossman, Managing Director and the National Director of Wealth Planning Strategies Group at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, was honored by the UJA Federation of New York at its Trust & Estates Group 24th Annual Awards Event in June 2015. Drossman provides wealth planning and tax matters, in addition to specializing in sophisticated tax, estate and financial planning on both a national and leadership level. (7/15/2015)

Jeffrey M. Kimmel, a partner at the Woodbury, LI firm of Salenger, Sack, Kimmel & Bavaro, LLP and head of its medical malpractice group, was sworn in to serve on the Advisory Council of the Nassau Suffolk Law Services Committee (NSLS) in June 2015. NSLS is one of the largest providers of free civil legal assistance in New York. (7/15/2015)

Michael B. Mirotznik, managing attorney of the Long Island, NY firm Mirotznik & Associates LLC, was presented with a United Hospital Fund Distinguished Trustee Award by the Nassau University Medical Center in May 2015 in recognition of his “leadership and extraordinary service to hospitals in New York City’s five boroughs, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and close-by New Jersey.” He focuses his practice on civil, criminal and medical malpractice litigation. David Pratt, a partner at Proskauer Rose LLP, Chair of its Personal Planning Department and head of its Boca Raton office, was elected Vice Chair of Financial Resource Development of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. He previously served as Vice Chair of the Federation’s Annual Campaign and is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Federation’s Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation. Pratt’s practice is dedicated exclusively to the areas of trusts and estates, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer, fiduciary and individual income taxation and fiduciary litigation. David Scharf, a partner in the New York office of Morrison Cohen LLP and chair of its Real Estate Loan Work-Outs, Restructurings & Foreclosures Group, was elected Vice President of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Tennis Association Foundation, the USTA’s charitable organization, for a three-year term. Sonia M. Valdes, vice president of claims at Medmarc Insurance Group, led a webinar for the company, "Recalls & Life Sciences Companies: A Guide to Effective Preparation and Execution," in August 2014. Valdes is responsible for medical device claim investigation and settlement oversight, defense counsel selection, litigation management, trial preparation/supervision and claim reserve audits and assessments.
