Stephen F. Anfang recently opened a boutique in Palm Beach, FL, called Quintessentials, which specializes in luxury sterling silver and leather creations, both vintage and designed by Anfang. Anfang also continues to travel to NYC to oversee his various real estate operations. (10/6/2015)

Jeffrey D. Forchelli, founder and managing partner of Uniondale, NY firm, Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana LLP, was presented with an Outstanding CEO Award by Long Island Business News at its Annual Dinner and Award Program in May 2015. Forchelli concentrates his practice on complex real estate and land use matters, including litigation and tax certiorari for major real estate developers and national corporations. He is also a member of the Brooklyn Law School Board of Trustees. (7/15/2015)

Daniel Gotlin and his wife, Sondra, celebrated the marriage of their daughter Melanie Kay to Graig Alan Russo, son of Susan and Jack Russo ’76 in March 2016. (3/4/2016)

Michael J. Hughes, vice president and corporate counsel at the Prudential Company of America, was named a 2014 Volunteer of the Year by the Pro Bono Partnership, a nonprofit legal assistance provider serving New York, New Jersey and Connecticut nonprofit organizations. Hughes was presented the award by the executive director of Partners for Women and Justice, Inc. in recognition of his assistance with real estate matters, including helping the Essex County Family Justice Center enter into its first lease for New Jersey’s first and only Family Justice Center, where multi-disciplinary services for victims of domestic violence are located under one roof. Gerald L. Shargel, a partner in the New York office of Winston & Strawn LLP and member of its Litigation and White Collar and Internal Investigations Practice Groups, will receive the 2015 Norman S. Ostrow Award from the New York Council of Defense Lawyers in March 2015. The award is given to recipients whose career is “marked by numerous examples of a lawyer fighting for a client with vigor, dignity, and expertise.” Prior to joining Winston & Strawn, Shargel maintained his own criminal defense practice for almost 40 years. He is currently a member of the adjunct faculty at Brooklyn Law School where he teaches Psychiatry and Criminal Law. He served as the Law School’s Practitioner-in-Residence for several years, teaching a number from criminal law classes. (3/5/2015)

Hon. Ira B. Warshawsky of Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein P.C. was recognized as an “Alternative Dispute Resolution Champion” by The National Law Journal and Legal Times. Warshawsky is of counsel to the firm’s alternative dispute resolution and litigation practices and NAM Neutral. He was a New York Supreme Court Justice in Nassau County’s Commercial Division from 2002 until his retirement in 2011. (3/4/2016)
