Sparer Forum: Public Interest Lawyering in the Pandemic and Its Aftermath

About the Forum

4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

When the pandemic struck the United States a year ago, it exacerbated legal issues faced by low-income people and people of color, creating a multitude of new crises. For public interest lawyers, this has led to enormous and sometimes unprecedented challenges. This year’s Edward V. Sparer Forum will gather public interest lawyers from a variety of specialty areas, including criminal defense, housing, family defense, and employment, to reflect on the lessons of the past year and to ponder and assess the struggles ahead. The discussion among experts and advocates will also include reform and activism efforts.

This program is a two hour-long Zoom discussion with ample opportunity for audience questions.
