Biography

Professor Hortsch has worked for two decades in reproductive and human rights advocacy, and has published on international NGO accountability, ethical lawyering, and reproductive and sexual rights. While serving as Director of the Law School Initiative at the Center for Reproductive Rights, Diana collaborated with legal faculty on symposia, litigation planning sessions, and a faculty amicus brief strategy for a landmark abortion case before the United States Supreme Court. Diana comes to Brooklyn Law after teaching full-time at George Washington University and New York University. Previously, she served as Lecturer-in-Law and directed an LL.M. program focused on comparative public interest lawyering at NYU Law. Diana received an A.B. from Bryn Mawr College and a J.D. from NYU Law. She clerked for Federal Magistrate Judge Cheryl Pollak in the Eastern District of New York.
