Launching Careers

We dedicate many resources to helping minority and LGBT students secure professional employment, and the results show it. Our recruitment programs attract many of the most prestigious international law firms, smaller law firms, government agencies, corporate employers, and public interest organizations. We assist minority students in securing externships and fellowships sponsored by several bar groups, and our students have consistently received these coveted opportunities.

We also participate in numerous job fairs that are geared to minority and LGBT students including:

  • Boston Lawyers Group
  • Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair (Kansas City, Missouri)
  • Hispanic National Bar Association Convention and Job Fair
  • IMPACT Career Fair for Law Students and Attorneys with Disabilities
  • Indianapolis Bar Association Diversity Job Fair
  • LeGAL LGBT Career Fair for First Year Law Students
  • Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference
  • National Black Prosecutors Association Convention and Job Fair
  • National LGBT Bar Association Annual Conference (aka Lavender Law Conference)
  • Northeast BLSA Job Fair (largest of its kind in the country)
  • Northwest Minority Job Fair
  • Procter & Gamble's Virtual Online Diversity Career Fair
  • Rocky Mountain Diversity Legal Career Fair
  • The Tri-State (Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky) Diversity Recruitment Program
  • Vault MCCA Legal Diversity Career Fair

Read about one of our students who recently chosen to receive the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Minority Summer Internship in Health Law. Established in 2011, the $5,000 internship seeks to “increase representation of lawyers and students from a diverse range of backgrounds in health law practice” and to “create a network that fosters greater diversity among health law attorneys throughout New York,” according to NYSBA.
