Fall 2003 - Spring 2004

Some of the exciting events and initiatives we have organized in the past year include: an iftar dinner to celebrate the beginning of Ramadan, an iftar lunch to commemorate the Eid al-Adha holiday, a panel discussion on racial profiling and its affect on the Muslim community in the United States, a lecture on the significance of the hijab (Islamic headscarf), the constitutionality of proposed headscarf bans, and the challenges Muslim women face in the workplace, as well as an information session for first year students on moot court, journals, class selection, and acquiring summer jobs. We also participated in BLS's annual cultural fair, and have developed close relationships with several other BLS organizations.
