Black Law Students Association (BLSA)
Introduction | Our Mission | Membership | Alumni | Officers and Committees Events and Programs
Welcome to the internet home of Brooklyn Law School’s Black Law Students Association (BLSA). We would first like to congratulate and welcome all of the newly admitted students. On behalf of our organization, we greet you with enthusiasm and excitement. Second, we would like to recognize all of our returning members and thank you for your continued support in the growth and development of BLSA. We are also excited to be joined for the first time by a Faculty Advisor; Professor Steven Dean has graciously assumed the role.
Our Executive Board Members meet throughout the year to set goals and develop programs for the academic year. We have defined several areas where we will provide support to you, the General Body, including academics, career building opportunities, and community outreach. We also remain committed to addressing the specific needs of first year and evening students.
We are developing new and exciting programs while continuing traditional programs such as our Kwanzaa Celebration, Black History Month activities, and the Annual Awards/Alumni Dinner. In order for our plans to become a reality, we need each and every one of you to contribute your time, talents, and energy. Regardless of your race or nationality, we invite you to embrace our organization.
We anticipate a very successful and productive year and we trust that you will be "a force and a building block that holds us together. Look forward to the future and help us maintain a wonderful legacy. Support Brooklyn BLSA!"
