I have applied for a loan. Can I just pay the difference between my loan amount and my balance due?
If you have applied for a loan and it does not appear under "Pending Aid" on your statement, it has not yet been certified by Financial Aid and cannot be deducted from the amount due on your statement. Your total balance is to be paid on the due date and any amount not covered by either payment, certified aid or a payment plan, will be subject to Late Payment Fees. When your loans are certified and disbursed to the Law School any credit amount will be refunded.

When will I receive my refund?
If you have signed up for direct deposit, your refund will be forwarded to your bank account within seven business days after funds have been credited to your student account. Direct Deposits are processed three times a week. Refund checks are processed once a week and will be mailed to your Preferred Mailing Address within ten business days after the funds have been credited to your account. You cannot pick up refund checks in person. No funds will be available prior to the first week of class.

When is my balance due?
Tuition due dates for the year are as follows:

Term   Due Date

Fall 2006 Entering Students July 14, 2006
  Upper-class Students August 16, 2006
Spring 2007 All Students January 3, 2007
Summer 2007 All Students Prior to Registration

What if I'm late paying my tuition? Will I have to pay late fees? When will I get a late fee?
Any portion of tuition that is not covered by a payment, certified Financial Aid or a payment plan will be eligible for Late Payment Fees.

Late Payment Fees are applied monthly. The first is applied in Fall 2006 on August 17th and Spring 2007 on January 4th for $75 and then $150 every thirty-day period after that on each account (both Housing and Tuition).

Where is my 1098-T?
1098-T forms are mailed to your Preferred Mailing Address before January 31st. For more information please visit the Tuition page of our Web site.

I switched from part-time to full-time. When will my tuition be due?
Full-time tuition for the current semester is due on the due date for that semester. All adjustments to previous semesters are due by October 13, 2006 for Fall 2006 and March 1, 2007 for Spring 2007.

Any part-time to full-time adjustment not paid by the due date will be charged Late Payment Fees in the amount of $225 on the day after the due date.

I switched to full-time. Why am I being charged so much?
The Law School does not bill on a per credit basis, but rather by course of study. There are two course-of-study options, part-time and full-time. To graduate, students must pay either 3 years of full-time tuition or 4 years of part-time tuition.

Due to the course-of-study requirements, all students who switch from part-time to full-time will be charged the difference in tuition between part-time and full-time for all semesters they were charged a part-time rate. The new rate and adjustment must be paid in the school year when the switch was made.
