Our Commitment to Your Passion
The Law School’s Public Service Office provides individual counseling and information on summer and academic year externships, steering students towards pro bono opportunities, enabling community service, and helping students apply for postgraduate fellowships and employment opportunities.
The Office also offers a range of important skill-building resources and coordinates a full calendar of events and programs to introduce students to the various practice areas and employers in the field. A biweekly Public Service Office newsletter keeps students abreast public service news, events & programming and career opportunities as they arise.
Elizabeth Kane, the Director of the Public Service Office, has been with the Law School since 2001. She spent more than a decade as Director of the West Side SRO Law Project-Goddard Riverside, where she managed an anti-displacement legal project; served as a spokesperson in advocacy and public education; and lobbied state and local governments on low-income housing policy issues. Her extensive connections and experience have established the Public Service Office as a vital student resource.
